Join us for a screening of Black August Hip Hop Project (dir. dream hampton, 2010), a film produced by the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement about the effort to bridge hip-hop and Black-led social movements. The film will be introduced with a conversation between Aberdonian rapper Chef and PhD student Kathryn Berry, who will outline the historical context for the film and discuss how its themes are relevant to Scotland.
