Queer Poetry & Crafts Night
Whether you're here to create, perform, or just hang out, you're invited to an evening of queer joy, creativity, and community.
This is a relaxed, welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ students and allies to come together, get inspired, and be heard. You don’t have to be “a poet” or “an artist” just come along as you are.
What’s On:
Run by the Creative Writing Society, this chill drop-in workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to warm up or try something new before the open mic.
From 5:30PM onwards, take the mic with your poetry, short stories, music or spoken word or just relax and enjoy the show. Want to perform? Sign up here →
We’ll have bracelet making, painting, and more creative bits set up all night. You can craft while you chat, perform, or listen in.
Come say hi! Our LGBTQIA+ Forum will be around to chat, connect and let you know what they’re working on this year.
Enjoy free pizza and snacks throughout the night plus Union Brew will be open if you need a caffeine boost.
There’ll be music and performances, but the Liberation Lounge will be open nearby if you need a breather at any point.
Accessibility:
Union Brew is wheelchair accessible and the quiet space is nearby. If you have any specific access needs, please let us know in advance or on the night. No pressure to speak or perform, all participation is optional.
